Carvings in His Palm, What God Thinks When He Whispers Your Name!
by
Brenda Craig

From the back cover:
Have you ever wondered what God thinks about when He whispers your name…Have you longed to read the carvings in His hand…Longed to hear the conversations of heaven? If so, now is your chance.

This book is by Brenda Craig as she brings whispers from heaven. Brenda set out to share the stories as though the Lord had written them to us. From the first page, I found myself becoming caught up in them. Surprised. Awed. And pleased.

It was as though, I’d personally taken those letters from my own mailbox, and opened them. Like God was sending me special notes of encouragement by way of Brenda’s book.

Brenda set out to teach truths about how God truly feels about His children. About how much He loves us. I don’t believe I’ve ever read a book with the dialog set in this tone. Thus my surprise, especially since I felt like God spoke to me in a new way.

I truly received encouragement from her book. I received confirmations about a personal situation, and the words on page 23, especially spoke to my heart.

“I remind you to stay as simple as you are, deeply grounded in my Word. You are to be a living witness for My kingdom. The journey is on.”

Each chapter is in a love letter format and it unfolds like God has written to us; while each chapter also allowed time at the end of each section, to affirm and write some journal entries. To reflect.

One section said, “Your soft heart full of compassion and genuine care for others is very pleasing to my eyes. I can’t help smiling at the very thought you have for the needy. the lonely, the broken. Yes, you love and long for restoration of all things in the lives of the downcast. This is my heart and yours as well (Isaiah 61).

What a great reminder for me to care for others, to think of actually seeing God smile. I long to know that He’s pleased with me. Oh, what a challenge this brings into my life, to my own motives. It causes me to look inward.

This book offered words of comfort, words I needed to read, and ponder on. It is not a book to read quickly, or in one afternoon, or even in one night. The pages are meant for lingering, to relish and soak them up; at least that’s the way it felt for me. Move too fast, and the information might not sink in.

There are many scriptures inside this book. I would recommend it for anyone who needs to hear some affirming words from God, for anyone who could use a whisper from the Lord.

Thank you Brenda for touching my heart with those letters. May the book reach out to many.
